Sometimes, opportunity knocks when you least expect it. And that’s definitely the case for Pamela and Jody Johnsen, new owners of Nathan’s Adult Foster Care of Flint, Michigan. ‘What is adult foster care?’ you might ask. Well, it’s a philosophy that includes all aspects of caring for older folks who may no longer be able to manage on their own. But instead of a big, industrial nursing facility, Nathan’s Place is less a hospital, more a home. A limited number of beds means that there are fewer residents and better, more personal care is possible.
And this is where opportunity came in for Pam and Jody. Both had been working in the medical field for years and just recently married. When they learned that Nathan’s Place was available, it seemed like a perfect match for their combined skills and ambitions. As new owners, they intend to make little improvements here and there, but to continue to offer personal, comfortable care to the folks staying with them.
This website is the space where you can find interesting information on what’s happening at Nathan’s Place, and maybe some inspiration for others who are taking care of those in need. Everyone, at some point in their lives, just needs a helping hand.
